MLB Commissioner Red-Faced Over Indians Logo: The belief that the Cleveland Indians were phasing out Chief Wahoo has been completely obliterated during the postseason. The Sambo-like caricature is on the team's caps, uniforms and a lot of other branding. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said he understands why the logo is considered offensive and will discuss it with team owner Larry Dolan: "I think that after the World Series, at an appropriate point in time, Mr. Dolan and I have agreed we'll have a conversation about what should happen with that particular logo going forward."

Chief Wahoo is awful. The Indians organization made it even worse by lying about a phase out. I want to like Cleveland because a friend is a complete maniac for the team and I'm a fan of the city, but they make it difficult with chump moves like this.

Is someone in broadcasting afraid of having two teams with "C" on their caps and unis playing each other in the Series? Is that a problem?

FFS, get rid of Wahoo now. Do it today.

For anyone who is nostalgic about Wahoo (and there are more than a few of these folks), they can go buy merch from a small time online seller and enjoy that image off on their own.

Wahoo is so much worse than the imaging that the Atlanta Braves, Florida State, etc. have.

Why would the players want to have a belittling cartoon caricature as their logo? If there is a Kaepernick on that team, this is the time to stand the hell up. Just get a piece of black duct tape and cover that fucking thing up. Or at least get a Sharpie and color in the teeth and whites of the eyes. Simple shit. Dare them to defend the image and justify their doing something about it.

Even just rub some infield dirt on it and obscure it a bit.

Amen to that. They are a likeable team in a likeable city. But having that fucking logo on their caps AND their sleeves is an abomination. It's a pure cash grab, knowing that the anti-"political correctness" (read: anti-empathy) crowd will eat it up.

I was shocked to see it on the cap during the playoffs. I hadn't realized they used it as anything other than a secondary (sleeve) logo. It's stupid to have it there, but at least (in a relative form) it's hard to see during the game.

On the cap? Moronic at best, tauntingly arrogant at worst.

From this post:

"My dad dressed as Chief Wahoo for school today and I've never been more proud."

Your dad is painting his face and looking like a culturally insensitive dope. If that's his proudest moment in your eyes, he's been a TERRIBLE father...
